DIY Cardboard Gingerbread Ornaments
Materials:
- ornament template
- card stock
- scissors
- thin cardboard
- pen
- chalkboard marker
- punch
- twine
Instructions:
Print the ornament template on card stock, then cut out the ornaments.
Arrange the ornament templates on the cardboard and trace them with a pen.
Cut out the gingerbread ornaments using a scissors or utility knife.
Flip over the ornaments so any pen marks are on the back, then use a chalk marker to draw a line just inside of the ornament’s edge.
Use the chalk marker to add details and patterns inside the ornaments.
Glitter Cardboard Star Ornaments
Materials:
- Cardboard
- glitter paint
- Small paintbrush
- Wax paper
- String to hang
Instructions:
Cut out stars from your cardboard.
Scoop some glitter paint onto your paintbrush then apply to each.
While wet the cardboard star will rise up a bit in the middle. Once dry, they should go flat.
Paint the back of the stars the same way you painted the front and let dry on wax paper.
Attach a string to each star. You can use them as Christmas tree ornaments, to make a garland or as gift tags.
DIY Cookie Cutter Cardboard Ornaments
Materials:
Snowman Cookie Cutter

- White Paint
- Black Buttons
- Orange Cardstock
- Black Sharpie

- Black Foam or Paper
- Red Foam or Paper
- Christmas Tree
Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter
- Cardboard
- Green Paint
- Brown Paint

- Yellow Foam Star

Stocking Cookie Cutter
- Cardboard

Directions:
Trace your favorite Christmas cookie cutters on the cardboard.
Cut out the different shapes.
Punch a hole at the top of the cardboard shapes. Then paint the snowman and candy cane white. Paint the stocking red and the Christmas tree green.
To make the candy cane, cut out strips of red felt and glue them diagonally to the cardboard.
To make the Christmas tree, wrap green yarn around the cardboard. Decorate with red pom-poms and a yellow foam star sticker. Tie the yarn to the back of the ornament or use glue to affix the end down.
To make the stocking, glue white pom-poms to the top of the stocking. You can also use cotton balls.
To make the snowman, glue on the 3 black buttons. Glue a piece of black foam or cardstock to the top to make the hat, and then trim around the edge to fit it to the snowman’s head. Add a red cardstock strip for the brim of the hat. Add a nose by cutting one out from orange cardstock. Draw the eyes and mouth with the black marker.
Add twine to the ornaments for hanging.
Cardboard Reindeer Ornament
Materials:
- Cardboard box
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Googly eyes
- Brown pipe cleaners
- A red button
- Black marker
- Tacky Glue
Instructions:
Cut a circle out of cardboard. Then cut out two ears.
Glue the eyes and nose to the reindeer’s face. Then glue on the ears behind the head.
Bend two pipe cleaners into antlers, and then trim off the excess. Glue the antlers to the back of the head.
Use a marker to draw a little math on the reindeer.
Add some ribbon for hanging the ornament.
DIY Cardboard Yarn Christmas Tree Ornaments
Materials:
- Cardboard
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Pencil
Instructions:
Cut several circles.
Cut 1/2 to 1 inch slits (1-2 cm), equal distance apart all the way around the circle.
Slide yarn into first slit, leaving a tail on the other side.
Begin making your way around the circle, passing through each slit several times, until you have your desired look.
Leaving enough to tie off a loop, cut yarn from skein.
Tie a loop for hanging, tuck excess tail under woven pattern.
