Beautiful faux brick walls – how to use them in the interior
Brick walls are really adorable and many people choose to take advantage of their charm in the interior to give the home a feeling of warmth and comfort. Brick walls are widely used and very typical for the loft style interiors but are an element of the country, rustic and English style interiors. If you have a brick wall, leaving it exposed and unfinished would make it a fabulous accent. However, many people are not that lucky and we will give you some ideas how to decorate your home with faux brick walls.
Faux brick wall designs can be installed using different materials. You can opt for wallpapers, brick tiles or faux ones. They are actually a thin layer of real bricks. They are installed very quickly and are an ideal DIY project. False bricks are also made of synthetic materials or plastic and quite successfully imitate real bricks and are a much cheaper version. Plastic faux bricks would be perfect for a backsplash, for example.
Faux brick walls have the great advantage of being lighter and easier to install. They are much cheaper as well. Installation costs are also less as you could attach faux brick panels to your existing wall. They are very durable as well. They are moisture resistant and some are treated to be fire resistant as well.
Faux bricks are offered in many different color finishes and the color would not fade over time. On the downside one can point out the fact that faux brick wall designs cannot be used as a structural support due to the light weight. This may limit the options of the homeowner to the place of use of false bricks. Again, due to the lightness and the fact that faux bricks are thin, they are easier to be damaged over time.
The modern interior design often features a faux brick wall because such a wall creates a feeling of comfort and makes the room appear warmer. The advantage of a faux wall is that even if the construction plan of the building does not feature a real brick wall, you can make one by yourself and at the same time save money and additional burden on the foundations. You can use brick veneer as an accent wall, on a part of the wall, niche or as a fireplace surround.
