The first thing you are going to need to do is clear out the shower. Get rid of all soaps, shampoos, razors, and anything that may interfere with your cleaning. Another reason to move everything out of the shower is to also avoid the possibility of getting the items covered in cleaning products.

Now, let’s start off by properly cleaning the shower tray. Hopefully you have put your cleaning gloves by now and are ready to get your hands dirty! Take a multipurpose bathroom cleaner and spray it all around your tray. After, scrub it with a scourer. If you don’t have a multipurpose product, you can make citric acid at home! Just mix half a cup of powdered citric acid with some warm water in a washtub or bucket. When you have sprayed your tray, rinse off the cleaning product with warm water and then dry it with a paper towel.

3. Cleaning unpleasant shower stains

If you have a problem with some unpleasant stains, then I have just the solution you need! Spray hydrogen peroxide on the dirty stains and let it sit for around 15 minutes. After, wipe it off with a towel. For an alternative method, use a paste of peroxide and tartar cream. Place the paste on the stain and wait for 30 minutes. Then clear it out with a sponge or cloth. Spotless!

Probably what I hate most about a dirty bathroom is the tile grout! But with the help of the natural vinegar cleaner, once again we can achieve the results we are striving towards! Do the half water, half vinegar mix again. Spray it on the tile grout and leave it to soak for 15 minutes. Get a toothbrush and start scrubbing the grout back and forth. After, mix two tablespoons of soda bicarbonate with little water. Use the toothbrush to brush this solution into the grout. Spray the tiles with the vinegar mix. Scrub away the grout and rinse with warm water.

It can be in a bucket or plastic bag even, but for the second option you are going to need to tie the bag with something. Let the shower head soak for about 20 minutes, or if possible overnight.  After that, remove it, get rid of anything that’s left, and let the shower run on hot water for some time. Splendid!

7. Washing the shower curtain

How to clean a shower curtain, you ask? Well, this is possibly the easiest part of cleaning a shower! What I always do is just take the curtain and put it in the washing machine. Make sure to do this regularly, so you don’t get unpleasant yellow stains which might be hard to get rid of later. To prevent mould on your shower curtain, you can soak it from time to time in salt water for a few hours. After, let it dry and hand it up again.
