Chimichurri sauce recipe – a classic from South America for a tasty meal
The spicy green Chimichurri sauce, which is traditionally served with grilled food in South America, is also enjoying increasing popularity in Europe. The aromatic classic actually comes from Argentina and is ideal for meat dishes. It is prepared based on red wine vinegar and olive oil. It all depends on the right spice mixture which definitely teases your appetite.
Chimichurri Sauce recipe ingredients
olive oil – 100 ml
red wine vinegar – 2 tbsp
parsley – 20 g
garlic – 3 cloves
1 red chilli
dried oregano – ¾ tsp
salt – 1 tsp
black pepper – ½ tsp
How to make chimichurri sauce – Directions:
Chop parsley finely.
Chop garlic finely.
Remove the red chili’s seeds and chop it finely.
In a bowl add olive oil, chopped ingredients, red wine vinegar, dried oregano and season with salt and pepper.
Mix well and leave for 10 minutes to let the ingredients release all of the flavors.
Chimichurri can be used as a marinade for meats or as a sauce for chicken, steaks and vegetables. Also if you have leftovers, adding chimichurri will make everything more delicious.
