Which New Year’s Eve champagne cocktail recipe to prepare?
As the famous George Sand said “Champagne helps to wonder. So, to have a chic and sophisticated New Year’s Eve party even in the comfort of your home, you should definitely prepare a champagne cocktail! It’s the must have festive drink! Here’s a list of our favorites:
Champagne and berry punch for New Year’s Eve
Ingredients:
- 1 cup blackberry brandy
- 1/2 cup Chambord
- 2 cups lemon soda
- 2 bottles of pink champagne (750 ml/25oz)
- 2 cups frozen berries
Preparation:
- Combine brandy, Chambord, club soda and champagne in a large pitcher. Add a cup of frozen berries. Leave the cocktail in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes so that the fruits release their colors and flavors.
- Before serving, place a few frozen berries in each champagne flute. Pour the champagne punch over the fruit in the glasses.
New Year’s Eve cocktail with blackberries and thyme
Ingredients:
- 120 g/4 oz blackberries + for garnish
- 200ml/6,7 oz water
- 200g/7 oz sugar
- 1 bottle of champagne
- 100ml/3,3 oz Gin
- 4 long sprigs of thyme
- 1 handful of ice
- golden sugar for the rim
Directions:
- First, prepare a blackberry syrup by bringing the fruit to a boil with the water and sugar. It will take about 15 minutes.
- Remove the syrup from the heat, drain the blackberries and let it cool.
- Decorate the glasses with sugar. To do this, apply any type of liquid to the rim of the glass. In this case, citrus juices are the most used, but you can also try with simple syrup, honey, caramel or simply water. After that, dip the glass in the golden baking sugar.
- Next, add 20ml/0,7oz of gin to each glass of champagne.
- Then, place two blackberries in each glass, followed by 50 ml/1,5 oz of the fruit syrup.
- Fill the rest of the glass with champagne and top with a sprig of thyme in each glass.
Poinsettia Spritz
Ingredients:
- 170ml/ ¾ cup vodka
- 370 ml/ 1 ½ cups cranberry or pomegranate juice
- 60 ml/ 2 oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- 180ml/ ¾ cup champagne
- 120g/ 1 cup fresh cranberries
- Orange slices or rosemary sprigs, to serve
Preparation:
- In a large pitcher, combine vodka, cranberry juice and St. Germain. Afterwards, refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Just before serving, add the champagne and cranberries. Pour your festive New Year’s Eve cocktail into glasses and garnish with rosemary and orange zest/slices.
Black Velvet
It’s a more eccentric cocktail that we recommend to gentlemen. Here are the ingredients for a glass of this two-tone drink:
- 120ml/ 1/2 cup champagne
- 120ml/ 1/2 cup stout beer
Preparation:
- Make sure both ingredients are well chilled.
- Pour the champagne into a flute, filling it about halfway.
- Then slowly pour the stout over it to fill the glass.
Spiced champagne cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon caster sugar
- ½ teaspoon of Angostura bitters
- 40ml/1,3oz cognac
- 2 slices of lemon rind, twisted
- 260ml/ 29.5 oz champagne
Preparation:
- Combine the sugar, bitters and cognac and stir them together until the sugar is dissolved. Then divide the liquid into 2 champagne flutes.
- Fill the glasses with champagne and garnish them with a twist of lemon peel.
