When you think of a refreshing drink that you can prepare at home, most often the first thing that comes to your mind is to make lemonade. Lemons are available all year round and you can enjoy this drink at any time. Nicely decorated and served in a cocktail glass with a straw or in an attractive bottle with a swing top, homemade lemonade is full of vitamins and microelements that are extremely important for our body.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water, for the simple syrup
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice, 4-5 lemons
  • 2 to 3 cups cold water, to dilute

Directions:

Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Stir so that the sugar dissolves completely and remove from heat.

Juice the lemons. You will need 4-6 lemons depending on size one cup of juice.

Pour the juice and the simple syrup into a serving pitcher. Add 2 to 3 cups of cold water and taste.

Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes.

Serve with ice and sliced lemons.

Homemade Lemonade Recipes – Peach Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 8 cups water, divided
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 7 peaches
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Directions:

Mix together the sugar and 3 cups of water in a saucepan and add in the whole peaches.

Place the saucepan over a medium flame and stir occasionally until the sugar has dissolved.

Bring to the boil and boil for 2 minutes.

Switch of the heat and allow the syrup cool with the peaches in it.

Strain and decant into a container and keep the peach simple syrup in the fridge until required.

In a large pitcher, combine 1 1/4 cups peach simple syrup, 1 cup fresh lemon juice and 4-5 cups of water.

Chill in a refrigerator till needed.

Add ice to some glasses or mason jars and top with peach lemonade.

Watermelon Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed
  • 3 lemons, juiced
  • 3 cups cold water
  • For Simple Syrup:
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water

Directions:

To make simple syrup, combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Cool completely.

Blend watermelon until smooth. Strain through a mesh strainer and discard pulp.

Fill a pitcher ½ way with ice. Add watermelon juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup to taste.

Top with cold water and serve immediately.

Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • ½ pound/220g fresh strawberries, stems removed
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 – 5 cups water, divided
  • 1 ½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

Directions:

In a small saucepan, over medium heat, stir together sugar and 2 cups water.

Bring to a boil, and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.

Use a blender or food processor to puree the strawberries. Strain them through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds.

Strain the lemon juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher. Add simple syrup and pureed strawberries and stir to combine. Refrigerate until cold.

When ready to serve, add 2 1/2 cups of cold water and stir. Taste, and add more water if it’s too sweet.

Serve with ice.

Sparkling Blueberry Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup sparkling water

Directions:

In a large saucepan, bring blueberries, sugar, and water to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes or until the blueberries are cooked down and the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and cool until room temperature.

In a large pitcher, mix together the blueberry syrup and lemon juice. Chill until cold. Right before serving, add sparkling water.
