However, not everybody can invest a lot of resources into creating this environment for themselves. Don’t get discouraged because, in reality, it takes a lot less than you probably imagine. In this article, I’m going to tell you how to make a bedroom cozy on a tiny budget using 5 simple hacks!
How to Make a Bedroom Cozy on a Tiny Budget?
We call the bedroom our sanctuary for a reason. It’s the place where we lay our mind, body, and soul to rest and recharge. It’s the most intimate room in our home that harbors our dreams and secrets, some of the happiest, and also the saddest moments we’ve had. The bedroom is a sacred, special place that deserves special care and attention. Let’s see how you can do that with minimal effort and resources.
Stock Up on Pillows, Blankets, and Area Rugs
It’s surprising how something as simple as a couple of extra pillows on your bed can do for the comfort of your space. During the cold months, you can also create layers using blankets, which will make you feel like you’re lying on a cloud. If you have bare floors, I suggest you either get one large rug to place under your bed or a few smaller ones that you arrange around it. They will not only add more character to your bedroom but also help you stay warm when the temperatures drop.
Swap the Blinds for Curtains
Whenever I move to a new place, the first thing I do is put curtains in my bedroom. This instantly gives me a feeling of comfort and security by creating a more homely atmosphere. The best curtains to choose, in my opinion, are those that are sheer enough for the sunlight to peek through without you being able to see through them. Did you know that they’re also an excellent insulator?
Buy Bedding in Neutral Colors
Although buying colorful bedding with beautiful prints can be tempting, if your goal is to create a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, they will have the exact opposite effect. Bold colors are very energizing and stimulating, which can make it more difficult for you to feel at ease when you go to bed. Neutral colors, on the other hand, are much easier on the eye, which gives them the ability to affect us in a more calming way.
Ambient Light
Low-key, or ambient, lighting is the easiest way to completely shift the atmosphere in your space. You can use fairy light or color-changing bulbs that can be set at soft-colored warm lighting. Candles are also great for creating a more mellow, intimate, and relaxing feel in the bedroom. Just remember to blow them off before you go to bed!
Paint One of Your Walls Black (Or Gray)
This may seem like an unorthodox decision, however, there is a really good reason why you should consider painting at least one wall in your bedroom black, or gray. These at first glance daunting colors help create a sense of security and peace in the bedroom, and as a result, relieve stress and promote better sleep.
