Pamela Anderson speaks frankly about aging and gives beauty tips
In a recent video for British Vogue, Pamela Anderson reveals some beauty tips, including the use of thongs. Rest assured, it’s her signature ’90s hairstyle in the form of a beautifully tousled high bun that even has its own name: the Pammy Updo. Vogue’s “In the Bag” feature takes a peek inside celebrities’ handbags, revealing their contents and examining the items found inside one by one. Well, in Pam’s case, it was pink thongs that caught everyone’s attention.
The surprising hair accessory that Pam reveals to her fans
The sex symbol of “Baywatch” opens her Stella McCartney purse to the public. She pulls out a candy pink thong and smiles, “Don’t know why I have a G-string in my purse, but don’t tell me that you don’t have a scrunchie.”
Turns out Pammy’s hair hack is to trade in her scrunchie for a little thong! “This is the trick of the trade. We’re really flashing back to the ’90s. The tousled updo — always had a pair of panties in them.” – she recalls while fixing her hair with the tiny piece of lingerie.
What are the blonde star’s favorite beauty products?
The Vancouver Island-born author and actress from British Columbia, Canada also highlighted some of her favorite beauty products, including the True Skin Serum Concealer by Ilia. The star admits she loves it, and her other must-have product from the same brand is the powder highlighter: “We didn’t know about this in the ‘90s.”
In addition to her makeup and dual-purpose underwear, Pamela Anderson carries a fan and CBD oil for less glamorous moments. “I have a fan for hot flashes,” she says. “I have CBD oil for my arthritis. Whenever my hands hurt.”
A sincerity that has earned the love of fans
Her openness about aging and honesty about menopause has provoked nothing but admiration and praise from the ’90s icon on social media. “The way Pam embraces her age is so refreshing and beautiful to me!” wrote one YouTube user. “Talk about hot flashes and arthritis. Yes, Pam! I love her.”, “Her energy is so bright and youthful, even when talking about hot flashes and arthritis pain,” wrote another – “I love it!”
On Instagram, fans described her as the type of person everyone wants to have as a friend. “Pamela Anderson made the biggest comeback of all time” – says one user. Another fan added: “Making menopause stylish… What a queen!”. “Thanks for talking about menopause!” writes a third. The thing she regrets? Not using enough of an absolutely mandatory product… The icon admits she should have been more proactive about sun protection when she was younger. She explains, “I should have used more sunscreen when I was little. I counted my freckles the other day; I have like 137, just on my nose.”
Pamela Anderson: “I can’t wait to see myself old”
On Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, Pamela Anderson talked about her hands-off approach to aging. She begins, “I never felt like I was any kind of great beauty, ever, no.”… “A lot of women that kind of are these classic beauties have a really hard time with aging. I don’t think it’s as hard for me, and I don’t want to chase that.”
Apparently, the sex symbol who removed her breast implants in 1999 is not afraid of seeing herself old and adds, “I always said I’d recognize myself when I was old in the mirror. I want to let my hair go kind of natural gray, put my little straw hat on, don’t wear makeup. I mean, that’s my comfortable kind of state.”
Anderson recently attended the premiere of her new Netflix documentary, “Pamela: A Love Story” in a fiery red dress (check it out in the photo above) that channeled the iconic swimsuit she wore on “Baywatch.” And she looked totally fabulous, including her glowing complexion at 55! According to her makeup artist, Eileen Madrid, it’s the Knesko Rose Quartz Antioxidant Collagen Eye Mask that is her foolproof anti-aging secret.
