  • 8 anise stars
  • 2 vanilla beans
  • 1 tbsp cloves
  • 1 tbsp cardamom pods
  • 2 – 3 cups / 500 – 750 ml fresh water
  • 10-20 drops essential oils, optional
  • 1 tbsp flavor extract – vanilla, rum, peppermint or any other of your choice


Cut the orange into slices or wedges.

Fill a pot or saucepan half full with water.

Add the orange slices and other ingredients.

Optionally, also add essential oils or flavor extracts.

Bring the stove top potpourri to a mild simmer.

Cook on low flame and add water as needed.
