How to Make Heart Shaped Pizza at Home?

You can prepare the pizza dough or buy one from the supermarket and combine it with your favorite toppings. If you are not sure you can shape it, make a heart template from cardboard with the size of the pizza you want to bake. You can opt for adorable mini pizzas and use a cookie cutter for shaping.
Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe
- 1 1/3 cups lukewarm water
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Whisk the warm water, yeast, and granulated sugar together in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with a dough hook or paddle attachment. Cover and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Add the olive oil, salt, and flour and knead until dough is forming into a cohesive, elastic ball.
Lightly grease a large bowl with oil, place the dough in the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise at room temperature for 60-90 minutes or until double in size.
When the dough is ready, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough in half. (If not making 2 pizzas, freeze half of the dough for another time.) On a lightly floured work surface using lightly floured hands or rolling pin, gently flatten the dough into a disc. Place on prepared pan and, using lightly floured hands, stretch and flatten the disc.
Preheat oven to 475°F/246°C. Allow it to heat for at least 15-20 minutes as you shape the pizza.
Top with your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes.
Heart Shaped Mini Pizzas Recipe
- Pizza Crust
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 8 ounces/ 220g shredded mozzarella
- 5 ounces/140g mini pepperoni
Prepare Pizza Crust
Heat oven to 475°F/246°C. If using a pizza stone, place in oven to preheat.
Dust cutting board with flour. Roll dough into a circle.
Cut into heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Place dough in pizza pan.
Spread sauce thinly over each heart, leaving ½-inch/1cm around edge. Sprinkle with cheese and arrange pepperoni over pizzas.
Place pizza pan in oven.
Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until crust is browned and cheese is melted and starting to brown.
Quick Mini Heart Shaped Chicken Pizzas Recipe
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
- ¼ teaspoon dried basil leaves
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup milk
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup finely chopped green pepper
- 1/3 cup sliced pickled mild banana peppers
- ¼ cup sliced olives
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook turning occasionally, for about 10 minutes or until chicken is browned and thoroughly cooked. Transfer chicken to plate to cool. When cool, cut into 1/2-inch pieces. Toss with basil. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 425°F/220C. Lightly coat large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
In large bowl, combine flours, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt; blend well. Stir in milk and oil until well blended and a dough forms.
Put pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Knead 10 to 12 times.
Divide dough into 8 equal pieces. For each pizza, using your hands, shape one dough piece into a ball, then flatten into a 4-1/2-inch circle. Shape circle into a heart. Place crusts onto prepared baking sheet.
