A stunning collection of wooden furniture, presented by Irish designer Joseph Walsh. He reveals the way wood dances and the smooth curves remind of flowing water. This self-taught designer takes beds, chairs and tables beyond their daily use and the quality of his wooden furniture takes your breath away. Every piece has a value as an art object except that each one is a masterly crafted object.

Looking at Joseph Walsh‘s wood furniture one starts thinking of contemporary dance, light and air. Every piece is mastered in compliance with the natural forms of wood with care and respect to form and material. With the Enignum collection he takes furniture design to a new higher level of quality and influences man’s perceptions on daily items. To achieve that spectacular “flowing” effect he has stripped wood into thin layers and then reconstructed it to magnificent compositions, shaped into perfect masterpieces.

The title of Enignum collection derives from the Latin words Enigma (‘mystery’) and Lignum (‘wood’), and for Joseph Walsh they sum up the idea behind his work: the mystery of the composition lies in the material. Joseph Walsh is creating unique pieces in limited edition series. His work is now in private and museum collections.
