And if you are looking for some sweet World Cup snacks, let’s give a go at this homemade caramel popcorn balls recipe!

What you will need:

  • 2 bags of microwave popcorn
  • 3/4 cups/ 170 gr butter
  • 3/4 cups/ 250 gr corn syrup
  • 1 1/3 cup/ 230 g packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cups/ 160 ml sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • oil

World Cup snack preparation:

First pop the popcorn. Then place it in a large bowl and leave. Take out a large saucepan and add the butter, syrup and brown sugar. Heat it on medium heat. The temperature of the mix needs to reach 240 °F /115 °C. This is important, because if it is cooler we won’t be able to make caramel. Once it is 240°F /115 °C, add the milk and vanilla and heat for 1 more min. Add the salt and stir. Pour the mix over popcorn and mix. Give it time to cool a bit. Place the popcorn in a baking tray. Lightly oil your hands. Start shaping the mixture into balls. When done, serve.
