This cocktail became famous past the breakout TikTok video of stars Emma D’arcy and Olivia Cooke starring in House Of The Dragon. “What’s your drink of choice?” was the question that was stuck in my head for weeks, because of this video. I can’t help it but make this cocktail again and again. It is very delicious and simple. Let’s see how to make this stunningly orange red drink!

If you are travelling to France for the holidays, you should definitely try their most famous drink, the Kir Royale. But if you’re going to be at home and want to bring some French sophistication to the New Year’s Eve, try making it yourself. Let’s see how to make it!

Cocktails for New Years Eve: Hot Buttered Rum
What is a hot rum? I know it can sound pretty weird, however recently this cocktail gained a lot of popularity. Back in the day, and by that I mean colonial time, it was used for medical purposes. Today it is one of the most calming drinks that involves rum, butter, and spices. How to finish your New Year’s Eve night properly and have an amazing sleep? Try this drink recipe and you won’t regret it! If you are wondering how does the combination of rum and butter taste like, well it is definitely something rich and velvety, if I can put it to words. The butter gives the rum that depth that it needs, and the spices makes the drink perfect and complete. Let’s find out how to make it!
Description: velvety, buttery, rich, spicy, sweet
Ingredients for the batter:
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup (100 g) brown sugar
1/4 cup (60 ml) maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
pinch of salt
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For each cocktail:
2/3 cup (160 ml) hot water
2 tablespoon (1 ounces) from the batter
2 ounces (60 ml) dark rum
whipped cream for garnish
Start by preparing the batter first. In a small sauce pan combine all the ingredients over medium heat. Stir well until the butter is melted and everything is combines completly. It should not take more than 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for a bit.
When making each cocktail, pour the 160 ml of hot water into a cup and add 2 tablespoons from the batter. Stir well until everything is combined completly.
Then you need to add the 60 ml of dark rum and make sure you stir very well again. All the ingredients should look mixed. If you taste it and it is not sweet enough, just add more batter and stir well again.
If you want that extra creaminess, top it off with whipped cream and a little bit of nutmeg. It will have this festive holiday vibe.
