In addition to that, you will find a good use of your husband’s old fashioned ties which clutter the closet. And this is the only material that you need – some silk ties and a pair of scissors. You don’t even need to boil the eggs but you should know that white ones are dyed better. Let’s see how this is done.
First, you need to make sure that the material is 100% silk. Check the label at the back of the tie. Cut a piece from the tie large enough to wrap around an egg. Make sure that you wrapped the printed side of the fabric around the egg. Tie with a rubber band, a piece of string or a twisty tie. The tighter the silk is wrapped around the egg the better final result you will get. Once you have wrapped all eggs, wrap them again in white (or light color) fabric. On old pillowcase, tablecloth or a shirt will come handy and tie again. Place them in a pot, pour enough water to cover them and add half a cup of white vinegar. Bring water to a boil, turn heat down, and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove them from the pot and let them to cool. Remove the silk end enjoy the results of your unique Easter eggs decorating!
