How to make nail polish dry faster? Here are some tips and tricks that really work!
Sitting still for minutes without moving is not an easy task. For us personally, there is nothing more frustrating than ruining our new manicure after a very short time. If you’re also tired of waiting, then you should definitely try the following tips to make nail polish dry faster.
Nail polish dries faster with cold water
Okay – especially in winter this method would not be particularly pleasant. But an ice bath is actually one of the most effective methods to make nail polish dry faster. The cold ensures that the paint hardens in a few minutes. And this is how easy it works:
- Fill a large bowl with ice cold water and add a few ice cubes.
- Paint the nails as usual and then let them dry slightly for 1-2 minutes.
- Now dip your hands in the bowl for another 3-4 minutes and the nail polish is already dry.
- Alternatively, running water from the tap can also help. But in order to avoid small scratches, you should make sure that the pressure is not too high.
Dry nail polish with hairspray
A hairspray keeps our intricate hairstyles in place all day long. What works for our hair logically also works for our hands. Drying nail polish faster with spray – sounds a bit strange at first glance, but can actually work wonders. The alcohol it contains removes the moisture from the paint, which means that it is completely dry after a few minutes. Spray your fingernails with some hairspray from a distance of 30 centimeters and repeat the process after 1 minute. Wait a moment and you’re good to go!
Use a hair dryer
How many times have you blown on your freshly painted nails hoping they’d dry faster? You’ve probably noticed that the method doesn’t really work, right? Since we add moisture with our breath, the drying time is even longer. What’s the quickest way to dry nail polish? With a hair dryer, of course! To do this, set it to the cold setting and hold it on your fingernails for 30-40 seconds. And voilà – you can make nail polish dry faster that easily.
Drying Spray or Quick Dry Drops
Quick dry drops and drying spray will change your life, or at least your manicure. They are another excellent way to make nail polish dry faster. The products ensure that the solvents evaporate more quickly, so that the nail polish is completely dry after a maximum of 1 minute. Luckily, Quick Dry drops and drying spray can be found at any drug store and aren’t expensive either. However, to avoid ruining your manicure, avoid spraying too close to your nails.
Use olive or baby oil
If you haven’t found Quick Dry Drops, we have a great home remedy for you that is just as effective. You can also dry the nail polish faster with conventional olive oil or baby oil. To do this, first put some oil in a small pipette. Paint your fingernails as usual and let them dry for 30 seconds. Then put 2-3 drops of oil on each nail and wait 2-3 minutes. Carefully remove the excess oil with a handkerchief and you’re done!
