OnePlus quickly gained popularity when it first started out with its powerful, aggressively priced smartphones that completely changed the market. Over time, the brand has gradually moved from producing flagship killer smartphones to simply producing premium flagships. To please its loyal fans, OnePlus launched the Nord series a couple of years ago with the aim of disrupting the mid-range smartphone segment once again, and it more than succeeded. The OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is OnePlus’ most affordable phone. As the name suggests, this is for the most part a lighter version of the Nord CE 2 5G, but it offers slightly better performance.

OnePlus held a presentation of two smartphones in India: the new Nord CE 2 Lite and 10R, which became the global version of the recently introduced OnePlus Ace. The company confirmed that the Nord CE 2 Lite is officially coming to the global market, but it is not clear exactly when. There is a planned launch event on May 19 at 4 p.m. on the YouTube channel of the company where official release dates, pricing and additional information will be revealed.

The model is available in two versions:

  • 6+128 GB: ₹19 999 (around $260/£210/€250)
  • 8+128 GB: ₹21 999 (around $290/£230/€275)

The Nord CE 2 Lite may be affordable, but OnePlus offer decent hardware and great features.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 695, which means it also benefits from 5G connectivity. Customers will have a choice between 6 or 8 GB RAM, and a fixed storage space of 128 GB, expandable by microSD.

The model is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and a 33W SuperVooc wired charging system.

The Nord CE 2 Lite features a large 6.59-inch Full HD+ display with a punch-hole camera in the top left corner. However, this is an IPS LCD panel and not OLED. The good news is that you get a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The fingerprint scanner is built into the power button on the side. It is easy to find and get, it is slightly recessed into the frame.

As for the camera, on the back you will find a triple camera module with a main lens of 64 Mp, although it is only accompanied by macro and depth sensors of 2 Mp and there is no ultrawide or zoom here. On the front, there is a 16 Mp selfie sensor.

The model supports Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, 4G VoLTE, five-band 5G in India, and six sat-nav systems. It also has a hybrid SIM slot that can accept up to 1TB microSD cards in place of a second SIM.
