Prepare the glaze. With a hand mixer whip the cream cheese and butter together in a large bowl until smooth. Carefully beat in the confectioners’ sugar and add the vanilla and milk. Beat until the glaze is smooth and set aside.

Prepare the waffles. In a large bowl whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa and salt.

In a separate bowl mix buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, vanilla and vinegar together. Whisk until smooth and stir in the red food coloring.

Add the buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.

Mix buttermilk, vegetable oil and eggs in a large bowl. Add sugar, flour, baking soda and baking powder to the mixture. Mix until combined.

Pour 1/4 – 1/3 cup of the batter in the waffle iron and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Mix sugar and cinnamon and set aside.

Once the waffles are cooked, brush them with melted butter on both sides and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
