4 Christmas Crafts with Toilet Paper Rolls for Preschoolers
To stimulate your children’s imagination and creativity, DIY projects are definitely a must. But what activities are best for preschoolers? We’ll answer you right away: those that involve rolls of toilet paper! They’re the perfect preschool crafts and allow you to celebrate the festive season in a creative way.
Small Festive Trees That Are Easy and Quick to Recreate
Essential for the festive season, Christmas trees can be made from a variety of materials. However, toilet paper rolls remain the most popular when it comes to kids crafts. Let the little ones draw the outline of the tree on the cardboard before cutting it out with scissors. Make sure you keep the scissors away from the children.
Once the tree is cut out, you can paint it green and use it as a decoration for the child’s room.
How to Make a Snowman from Toilet Paper Rolls?
Another must-have ornament for the festive season, the snowman is very popular among children. In addition, it is super simple to make and you will only need a few materials:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Pipe Cleaner
- Orange paper
- Glitter paper
- Black felt pen
- Hot glue gun or glue stick
Note that pompoms and chenille threads are not obligatory, but they will make your creation even more fun. What’s more, your child can choose his or her favorite colors.
Assembling the snowman couldn’t be easier. Start by gluing the pipe cleaner as shown in the image above and let it dry. Meanwhile, cut out the nose from the orange paper so that it looks like a carrot.
Next, take the glitter paper and cut a strip that will act as a scarf. Secure this with glue and do the same with the pompoms and the nose. Add the rhinestones and draw the eyes and the mouth (see first image above) and that’s it!
DIY Advent Calendar from Toilet Paper Rolls
Loved by young and old, this tradition is now adapted to everyone’s desires and preferences. Whatever the age, the homemade Advent calendar is always personalized, and children will have fun creating it. As you’ve probably already guessed, you’ll need 24 rolls of toilet paper, as well as 24 number stickers. Also get a cardboard box, white and red paper and hot glue. Cut out the box as shown above and arrange the rolls in it by gluing them together.
Then attach the stickers and glue the red and white paper to create a house. If desired, add other decorative elements such as a string of lights or ornaments.
Cute Reindeer to Make with Children
Christmas crafts with toilet paper rolls for preschoolers also include Rudolph the reindeer! To create it, get brown yarn, thin twigs, colored yarns of your choice, a red pompom, wiggly eyes and hot glue. Start by wrapping the brown yarn tightly and finally secure with glue. Do the same with the red pompom and the wiggly eyes. Finally, decorate the twigs as shown in the example above and glue them inside the roll.
