Cookie mix in a jar
What says “I care about you” better than food? Make a DIY cookie mix jar. You can tie the jar with a ribbon and attach a card to make it prettier. It’s a fun experience to make the jar and even better for those who will have to make the cookies! Just pour in the ingredients and decorate them in a festive way. They are inexpensive, which is a big plus! Here are the ingredients for a wonderfully delicious cookie mix:
250g all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
150g packed brown sugar
100g granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
100g chopped walnuts (optional)
In the end, all they need to do while cooking is add 150g of butter and a little vanilla extract. And There you go! A delicious gift for everyone!
If you want to put a little more effort into your gourmet Christmas gift, you can bake the cookies yourself and give them away. The time you spend making them will show the other person that you love them deeply and it will make the gift even more personal. You will need the same ingredients as for the preparation of the cookie mix jar. You just need to follow the instructions and put them in a nice box.
First, preheat the oven to 190°C.
Beat 250g butter, 1 large egg and 3/4 tsp vanilla extract in a large bowl until well blended.
Then add the cookie mix and 100g chopped walnuts (optional). Be careful to mix well, breaking up any lumps.
Next, drop rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until cookies are golden brown.
Finally, let cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes and move to wire racks to cool completely. This makes about 24 cookies.
