How to Make “Flowering” Potatoes?

Potato “flowers” with cheese not only look nice in the plate, but you’ll probably soon be convinced that this is one of the most nutritious and delicious meals among the beer snack recipes.

Necessary products:

  • 6 young potatoes, slightly oblong
  • cow butter, 120 g, halved
  • cheese, 180 g, grated
  • salt, on taste
  • black pepper, freshly ground

How to prepare:

  1. Peel and put the potatoes in a bowl.
  2. Keep them in cold water for a 5–6 minutes.
  3. Heat up the oven to 200 degrees.
  4. Cut a small cap from one of the tips of each potato.
  5. Place the potatoes to stand vertically on their cut side.
  6. Cut them on the other side, lengthwise and widthwise.
  7. Form thin strips that will lately be the “petals” of a “flower”.
  8. Boil the potatoes in salted water for 4–5 minutes.
  9. Place them upright on their base in a deep baking pan.
  10. Include one half of the butter at the bottom of the pan.
  11. Pour 4 ladles of the water in which the potatoes were boiled.
  12. Put sticks cut from the other half of the butter between “petals”.
  13. Sprinkle with ground black pepper.
  14. Bake at 200 degrees until the potatoes are slightly red.
  15. During baking, pour over them the butter sauce from the pan.
  16. Meanwhile, grate the cheese.
  17. Fill the “petals” of prepared potatoes with grated cheese.
  18. Return to the oven until the cheese melts.

There is no need to put nothing else on the table, along with these golden “flowers” and your beer.
