We’re here to help you out with a little overview of the best ways to take care of your scalp. Follow our simple tips!
Why you shouldn’t wash your hair too often?
A reminder just in case: our hair has natural oils. The problem is that when we wash our hair every day, these oils disappear. As a result, removing the oils dulls and dries out the hair. This is why it is advisable not to wash your hair every day: to avoid damaging the scalp and the hair fibre. Unfortunately, most shampoos have a very chemical formulation, which is very harsh on the hair. As you come to see, the less you wash your hair, the better it is.
Keep in mind, however, that a person with oily hair will not have the same needs as one with normal or dry hair. Similarly, if you are running the London Marathon for two hours every day, you will certainly need to wash your hair. So it all depends on your hair type and your daily activities. Normal hair is the least demanding to maintain. In this case, two shampoo washes per week are sufficient.
Unfortunately, this is not the case for dry hair, which lacks moisture. To care for it properly, we recommend washing it once a week with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner containing essential fatty acids. In addition, it is essential to use a nourishing balm or hair oil after each shampoo, especially if you have salt and pepper hair. Finally, a repairing mask once a week would not go amiss
Let’s finish with oily hair. Finally, oily hair needs to be washed more often than other hair types. This is because the sebaceous glands in this type of scalp produce too much sebum. Ideally, wash it every other day. Our advice: opt for shampoos with plant-based cleansing properties! In all cases, choosing the right shampoo for your hair is key! Indeed, a shampoo that is not adapted to your hair needs can damage the scalp and hair. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Why not wash your hair at night?
The advantage of washing your hair at night is that it saves time. This way, you can enjoy your coffee and croissants the next day without stress. It’s also the ideal solution if you prefer to sleep for an extra 15 minutes instead of doing your hair in the morning. Choosing to do your hair at night also means you have more time to let it dry. Drying your hair in a hurry in the morning can damage it. This holds higher risks for your scalp and hair. Finally, leaving your conditioner on your hair overnight will quickly restore moisture and soften it. Keep in mind, however, that 30 minutes is enough time for the hair to absorb enough moisture.

Why you shouldn’t do it?
The main problem here is about sleeping with wet hair. Rubbing your damp hair against the pillow will damage its fibre and increase the risk of split ends or tangled hairs. Similarly, if the hair is not properly dried, dandruff can appear. Another important concern is that sleeping with wet hair increases the risk of fungus developing on the scalp. This is because trapped moisture can create a moist environment that encourages the growth of scalp microbes. Finally, if your hair is particularly fine or easily oily, it may re-grease overnight and not look as vibrant when you wake up. To avoid this, we recommend that you always make sure your hair is completely dry before going to bed.
