How to Pack Jackets in a Suitcase: The Ultimate Guide is Here!
If you are a frequent traveler or planning on going on a trip soon, you have to be familiar with all the good tricks when it comes to packing. Usually, we struggle more in the colder seasons, since the clothes become fluffier and the boots chunkier. Today, however, we are going to focus on the jackets. Sometimes, we even need to pack multiple ones, if we are going on a vacation, or a business trip. No matter the case, they can fill up your entire suitcase and you don’t want this to happen! The good news is that there are a few methods that you can use that will save you a lot of trouble when packing!
How to Pack Multiple Jackets in a Suitcase?
Let’s start with the first case scenario – packing multiple jackets in one suitcase. I know this may sound like a real nightmare to you, especially if your jackets are fluffy. But fear not! You are actually going to use their fluffiness to your advantage. Here’s how:
- First, we always say that you absolutely need a list. Create a list with your outfits that you are planning on wearing. If not, you are risking taking a jacket that you don’t need. Also, check the weather and decide which jacket is suitable for it.
- Once you have decided what jackets you’re taking, it is time to grab the fluffier one. Fold it, so it fits in the length of your suitcase and place it inside. Make sure you fill out the corners of the suitcase.
- Grab the other one, fold it, and place it on the opposite side, so the collars of the jackets are not on top of each other.
- Keep in mind that you have to take the air out of the jackets. So place your hands on them and slightly squeeze.
- Make sure that all the sides and corners of the suitcase are filled in. Now, you can place other things on this side of the suitcase. The heavier, the better, because they will take the excess air out.
Important: Always wear your most expensive and big jacket to the air plain with you, if you can, to make sure it is not lost. And also, you will have more space for the other ones in your suitcase. And for more tips, you can check out how to pack your suitcase according to the Marie Kondo method.

How to Pack a Coat in a Suitcase?
Packing coats in a suitcase is easier than packing a winter jacket. Because of their fabric though, you have to be really careful, because they can get wrinkled. And it will be really hard ironing them after that. So, here are the steps:
- Place your coat face down. Fold the sleeves with the same technique, as if you are folding a shirt.
- Fold the coat in half, so that it fits your suitcase.
- Place it in the suitcase and try to fill in all the space and the corners as well. If the coat is a bit bulkier, try to get the air out without creating wrinkles.
- For best results, instead of placing the coat first, place it lastly on top of the other packed things.
