As I mentioned previously, first and foremost, you have to get used to treat this area with more attention. There are 5 steps that will ensure that these annoying bumps won’t show up anymore!
Do Your Research and Get a Nice Razor
First, you have to make sure you are investing in a nice razor. The cheap ones that you can use only once are not the best idea, if you don’t want to get bumps. According to some experts, the razor that have more blades will do a better job, since the pressure will be separated equally between them and they will cut with less force, but more efficiently. There are also stainless steel razors, but if you are new to this, we recommend staying away from them.
Skin Prep Is Essential
Skin prep is one of the most important step to follow in order to prevent razor rumps on your pubic region. When you are in the shower, run the warm water so your pores will open up. That why it will be easier to remove the thick hair. Also, remember that you should ALWAYS exfoliate the skin on your pubic area. Get a nice exfoliant suitable for sensitive skin and exfoliate for at least 3 to 5 minutes. You can even scrub gently a bit to make sure you remove the dead skin cells. What happens if you skip that step? If you shave directly, without exfoliating, all the dirt and the dead skin cells will get into your pores and clog them, creating these bumps.
Always Use Shaving Cream
Now that the skin is prepared, you have to make sure you don’t shave it directly, since this can damage it. Instead, try using shaving cream, which will make the process easier. Even if your skin is damp, you need that extra hydration, because otherwise shaving your bikini area can be quite painful. Don’t go over board with the shaving cream/gel. Apply a small amount and rub it directly onto the skin. Here, the rule for the razor applies for the shaving cream as well – it should be a good-quality product.

Shaving Direction and Cleaning Your Razor
The shaving direction is also very important. You should never shave in the opposite direction of the hair. Instead, shave in the same direction and remember to use sharp blades. When shaving the bikini line, you should never apply too much pressure, because you can risk damage the skin or cut yourself. Also, remember – the more the blades, the better results! Keep in mind that you should always clean your razor after you shave with rubbing alcohol and warm water.
Calm and Moisturize the Skin
If you want to calm the pubic area skin, then you should apply a cold compress for about 10 minutes. After that make sure you use the right products to moisturize the region. The product should also have anti-inflammatory purposes to calm the skin and prevent bumps.
How to Treat Razor Bumps on Pubic Area?
If the bumps appear after all, you have to treat them properly, if you want them to disappear. Many specialists recommend that you do a warm compress and apply tea tree oil to the area and wait for about 10 minutes. This will reduce the redness and it will calm the skin. Aloe Vera gel is also useful if you want to treat razor bumps on the pubic area. Please, never try to “pop” a razor bump even though it may seem like a pimple. This is very dangerous and can damage your skin!
