A magnificent renovated holiday villa in Santorini, Greece by mplusm
You may have seen the amazingly picturesque photos from the island of Santorini, Greece. It is known as the island of magical sunsets, famous for the beaches and the volcano and the Aegean architecture. Villa Anemolia is one of this incredible places where you can have a relaxing stay. A beautifully renovated holiday villa by architecture company MPLUSM which is charmingly traditional while having a modern and chic flair.
Situated in the community of Megalochori this renovated holiday villa by MPLUSM remains a part of the tradition and you will notice that modern times do not affect the architecture of the island. The renovation project for Villa Anemolia was completed in 2013 and the most interesting is that the traditional setting of the 1900’s has been kept yet the villa offers exquisite minimalist design and luxury. The architects have preserved the three vaulted rooms of the house with minimum changes. Two bedrooms share a living area and all of them open onto a walled courtyard which provides the privacy of the occupants and their peaceful rest.
The vaulted ceilings are traditional in the home architecture of the island and the interior spaces have a cavernous feeling. This created a problem with insufficient natural light which was solved with the help of incorporated skylights openings and small recessed lights in the walls. All the existing furniture was removed and the renovated vacation villa was completely refurbished. The living room received custom made furniture in pale wood, including sofa beds. Pure white walls are characteristic for the whole interior add the modern minimalist chic to the atmosphere. The courtyard offers a dining area and jacuzzi and also there is the rooftop terrace which is the perfect place for enjoying the unique beauty of the island.
